Bursting Forth | Week 2 | Greener Series

 

 

 

            13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush.

Genesis 2:13 NKJV

 

Gihan - One of the Four rivers that flowed from the Garden of Eden.

1.    Pison – increase   (Increase comes from the Lord. John. 3:27; 1 Corinthians 3:8)

2.    Gihan – bursting forth.  (Rivers of living water flow from you. John 7:38)

3.    Hiddekel – rapid ( suddenly of God Luke 19:11; Matthew 15:28; Matthew.21:3; Acts 2:2; Matthew 8:15)

4.    Euphrates – fruitfulness  (The Father is glorified by us bearing fruit John 15:8)

 

Eden is no longer a physical place to walk with God but Eden has moved inside of us.

 

50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. 51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Rivers moved as God’s residence moved

 

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

John 7:37-39 NKJV

 

Gihan – bursting forth

-   Nothing can contain it

-   This is the river that flows around us to change the environment around us

-   We learn about this bursting forth in  2 Corinthians 10:13-16

-   Paul talks about our sphere of influence

 

13 We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you. 14 For we are not overextending ourselves (as though our authority did not extend to you), for it was to you that we came with the gospel of Christ; 15 not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men’s labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, 16 to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s sphere of accomplishment.

Gihan

-   Breaking forth into the environments that you are in because it is the river of God flowing from your life

-   Life forever more is bursting forth all around your life because Gihan flows from you

 

Holy Spirit power is available to all believers

 

46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

Luke 24:46-49 NKJV

 

Ways to receive the Baptism in Holy Spirit

1.    Direct from heaven

2.    By laying on of hands

1.    Be thirsty – John 7:37 (Matthew 5:6)

2.    Jesus said come unto me. Jesus is the baptizer. John 7:37

3.     Drink – you have to open up to drink in the spirit of God. Easiest way is to breath in as you worship

4.    Release

a.    Speak in worship

b.    Yield to the Holy Spirit

Words of Knowledge

  • We believe the Lord is healing severe joint pains.

  • We believe the Lord is releasing true joy to those who have been dealing with long term emotional heaviness. 

  • We believe someone is struggling with depression and suicide and the Lord wants to set you free of this today.

  • God is calling you to something greater. Don't be afraid. Step out of the boat in faith. He is there waiting for you.
