Fast Day 9

Mountain of Influence: Education

Day 3 – Proclaim

Psalms 19:7 NKJV

“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”

In 1984 one University of North Carolina graduate took the professional basketball arena by storm. That young man, against all odds, entered a dying team on the verge of bankruptcy and single handedly changed their losing culture forever. The name of that team? The Chicago Bulls. The name of the player? Michael Jordan.

We all know the incredible story of young Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, but preceding this story roughly 2650 years was a much greater story of a young man who also single handedly changed a culture. Yet this time it wasn’t a team, it was a nation. His name? King Josiah of Judah.

In 2 Kings 22 the word of God details to us how King Josiah was able to accomplish such a great feat. He stumbled upon an old scroll that contained God’s word and upon reading it was cut to the heart. Knowing what he must do, he immediately began to work tirelessly towards dismantling the wrongs of his nation and turning its heart back toward God.

King Josiah found the law and changed the land. God has given us this testimony to show us that we too can find His law and take back the Mountain of Education. Let’s declare God’s law of truth over our lives today, and convert our halls of learning back to Him. Is God calling you today, to influence this mountain?

Your Turn

Prayer:

Father, we thank you that you are a trustworthy father who is constantly leading us to good things. We thank you that your law is perfect and converts our souls. We ask that you show us your heart for us that we may boldly proclaim it in our nation.

Fast Thoughts:

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the Father’s heart and His law. As you read His word, allow it to penetrate your soul and then adapt your life to what the Lord is saying.
