Fast Day 12

John 3:30 (NKJV)

He must increase, but I must decrease.

In order to have more of God in our lives, we must displace self, ego, and everything else that desires first place. Fasting and prayer are the spiritual weapons that brings an increase of God and a decrease of self. Fasting diminishes the soul and elevates the Spirit. Fasting reveals wrong motives and deals a death blow to our appetites and temporary desires. 

In Psalms 35:13 (AMP) King David said, “I humbled my soul with fasting.”

The “soul” is the place of our mind, will and emotions. Through fasting we can diminish our own desires and receive God’s. We dethrone our will and discover His will.

Prayer Focus

• What desires have you discovered during the fast that are just your will, not God’s will?

• What are God’s desires that have been revealed to you during the fast that you didn’t know were there.

• Pray that all self-ambition, wrong thoughts, and vain imaginations will be identified during this fast, so you are able to bring them into captivity in accordance to 2 Corinthians 10:5
