Walk With Me | Week 4 | Together Series

A genuine walk with God produces a genuine walk with others.

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

1 John 1:3-4 NIV

Fellowship = KOINONIA – means “common use” as in “this is for everyone” and describes a “shared life.”

Fellowship is a shared life.

Two misunderstandings that stop us from entering into fellowship with God:

  • Misunderstanding His goodness, His glory, and His grace.

  • Misunderstanding the redeeming impact of His sacrifice.

All this is to bring joy not happiness.

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.  If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.

1 John 1:5-6 NIV

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 1:7 NIV

Our fellowship with God creates fellowship with one another.

Who or what is in the center of your affections? Who or what is in the center of your identity?

Lukewarm teaching - Revelation 3:14-22

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:36-40 NIV

Biblical Community is an essential part of a life spent walking with Jesus.

Book Find Your People by Jennie Allen

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Colossians 3:3-5 NIV

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 NIV

Sometimes we need others to provide a new perspective on our walk with God.

Words of Knowledge

  • We believe God is relaying a foundation for some people. In those moments it may seem like a frustrating setback, but it really is to broaden and strengthen your ability to carry and do great things.

  • We believe if you have been tired in the day and restless at night, the Lord wants to refresh and renew you in times of rest with him.

  • We believe someone is dealing with childhood trauma that has been affecting you your whole life, come for healing.

  • We believe God is breaking off paranoia. There is no need to be paranoid because He knows every scheme and plan of the enemy. The Lord is saying, “I am holding you by your hand and I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

  • We believe the Lord wants to heal pain in the right elbow.

  • We believe the Lord wants to heal those with neck stiffness

  • “I’ve come to give you life and life abundantly” we felt this for someone who is just settling and feels like they have no choice and “it just is what it is.”

  • We believe a spirit of confusion and distraction has made someone fall behind, or over extend themselves; the Lord wants to set you free of this today.

  • We heard the word “unbelief”.
There is someone or many that have been struggling with unbelief on what God is doing and has done. God wants to counter your unbelief with an experience with Him.

  • We believe there is someone who is feeling unworthy and He says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”

  • We believe that prodigal sons and daughters are coming home.
