“So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. The whole building, being put together by Him, grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord. You also are being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.”
Ephesians 2:19-22 HCSB
Apostle – ( apostolos ) a delegate, a commissioner of Christ
Prophet – (prof-ay-tace) foretelling the future, and forth telling
True ministry is always passed from fathers and mothers to sons and daughters.
Principles in a house that produces sons and daughters
1. Fathers and mothers never stop being sons and daughters (Gen 6:8)
“Noah, however, found favor in the sight of the Lord. These are the family records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God. And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.”
Genesis 6:8-10 HCSB
2. You gain identity from being fathered and mothered well because they will point you too Jesus who gives your identity
“He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
Matthew 16:15-18 NKJV
3. There is a commanding of your children to follow God and the heavenly vision (Gen 18:19)
“For I have chosen him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfill to Abraham what He promised him.””
Genesis 18:19 HCSB
4. The priesthood is always fathers and mothers to sons and daughters (exodus 28:1)
““Have your brother Aaron, with his sons, come to you from the Israelites to serve Me as priest — Aaron, his sons Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.”
Exodus 28:1 HCSB
5. Anointing and gifting flows from the blessing of fathers and mothers ( Paul to. Timothy, a son in the faith 2 Tim 1:6)
“Remembering your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy, clearly recalling your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois, then in your mother Eunice, and that I am convinced is in you also. Therefore, I remind you to keep ablaze the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
2 Timothy 1:4-6 HCSB
6. Inheritance flows from fathers and mothers to sons and daughters ( many examples throughout the Bible)
7. When there is no family inheritance being passed down to sons and Daughters it breaks the church and the church becomes a corporation that people do not trust.
“For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me. For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.”
I Corinthians 4:15-17 NKJV
8. When there are fathers, mothers and sons and daughters in ministry God builds the house (David’s life 2 Sam 7:11-15)
“since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel, and have caused you to rest from all your enemies. Also the Lord tells you that He will make you a house. “When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.”
II Samuel 7:11-12 NKJV
