Mountain of Religion

According to Merriam-Webster, religion is “the service and worship of God, or the supernatural.” The four largest religious groups are Christianity (over 2.1 billion followers), Islam (over 1.9 billion followers), Hinduism (over 1.1 billion followers), and Buddhism (over 507 million followers).

We have the numbers in this area of influence; however, we haven’t displaced the influence of idolatry, the religious spirit, nor the spirit of human reason YET.

True worshippers have been given authority to displace every enemy from the top of this mountain, “so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations” (Isaiah 61:11)

  • Pray that The Crossing Church and every church family in the Tampa Bay region be filled with true worshippers of the Lord.

  • Pray that His Kingdom comes to the mountain of religion as it is in heaven.

Unity

We rejoice in the Lord for all the work He is doing in the Tampa Bay region with pastors and churches. The uniting of churches is happening! Let’s continue to pray for unity in our church, the churches in this region, and those all around the world.

Hebrews 10:23-25 (HCSB) 23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, 25 not staying away from our meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

  • Pray for a spirit of unity to continue to break out among the churches in our community.

  • Pray that churches would band together as a unified army, so as to effectively win the lost in this region together, and to bring influence in every area of our culture.

  • We declare that we are a church family that is not easily offended and walking in forgiveness is easy for us.

Worship

Idolatry: the worship of a physical object as a god; immoderate attachment or devotion to something.

As Tim Keller states in his book “Counterfeit Gods”, an idol is “anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, and anything that you seek to give you what only God can give.”

  • Pray that the Lord will reveal any idolatry in our personal lives and then ask for forgiveness.

  • Pray that we begin to worship with a new freedom and more passion.

  • Pray that our hearts will not be stuck in old wineskins or locked in traditions but that we will be open to whatever the Holy Spirit wants to do.

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will move in us and all believers in this region like never before, causing the mountain of religion to shake and its dark forces to be displaced.

John 4:23-24 (HCSB) 23 But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

  • Pray that human reasoning, which creates a type of Christianity that is the form of godliness but denies its power will be displaced in our people.

  • Pray that we will not be image driven and steeped in pride.

  • Pray for a fresh anointing to fall on us and every believer in this region.

Jerusalem

Prayer that Jerusalem must become a top priority in order to take back complete influence of this sphere in our culture.

Psalm 122:6 (HCSB) 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you prosper;

  • Pray for peace to come to Jerusalem.

  • Pray for all false religions to be eradicated in Jerusalem.

  • Pray for prosperity and protection over Jerusalem's government leaders, spiritual leaders, heads of families, and all who are in authority.
