B. The evidence of a Savior

  1. He was raised from the dead

3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

    1 Corinthians 15:3-8 NIV

21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

    2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

    1 Corinthians 15:21-22 NIV

C. What is required?

Faith and Action

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:3.6 NIV

17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

James 2:16 NIV
