Serving The Bride | Don't Go Alone | Week 4
BIG IDEA: Kingdom victory outside the church is dependent upon the engagement of Kingdom people inside the church.
The local church is the Bride of Christ and as such exists to bring the Hope of Christ into the world around us.
The Bride of Christ CARRIES TRUTH
1 Timothy 3:14-15 –
… I am writing you these instructions so that, 15 … you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
b. We not only establish truth as a foundation for the world to build on, but we lift up truth for the world to see where to run and what to aspire to.
The Bride of Christ EXTEND’S GOD’S LOVE
Luke 4:18-19 -
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
The Bride of Christ STANDS IN INTERCESSION
1 Timothy 2:1-2 –
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
We are called to pray for the PEOPLE, the GOVERNMENTAL LEADERS, AND those in positions of AUTHORITY.
Judges 6:12 –
”When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
Not everybody will discover their purpose.
a. Three Dis-Qualifiers
i. Pride
Judges 7:2 -
The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’
ii. Fear
Judges 7:3 -
Now announce to the army, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’” So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.
iii. Idolatry
Judges 7:4-7 -
Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. 5 So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.” 6 Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink. 7 The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”

PRAYER
Father, I repent of my pride. I repent of my fear. I repent of placing my desires above yours. I am a child of God and co-heir with Christ and with that authority I command the spirits of pride and haughtiness, of fear and anxiety, and the spirit of idolatry to be released off of my life. You will never limit me again. Father, I am yours. Use me as you see fit. And I’ll give you praise for a life of purpose.
