Recover His Fame

20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)

An ambassador does not speak to please his audience, but the King who sent him.

An ambassador does not speak on his own authority

An ambassador’s own opinions or demands mean nothing.

An ambassador simply says what he has been commissioned to say.

An ambassador is more than just a messenger; he’s also a representative, and the honor and reputation of his country are in his hands.

The way you live your life every day is either making Jesus famous or making Him infamous.

32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

John 12:32 (NIV)

3.    His death will be witnessed by both followers, enemies, and those that had no vested interest Christ (Mark 15:29–32; John 19:25).

4.    He will die in between thieves (Matthew 27:38), only one of whom will believe (Luke 22:39–43).

5.    His body will be attended to by both loyal disciples and secret followers—those of both low and high class (Matthew 27:57–61).

6.    Women will be the first to learn of His resurrection (Mark 16:1–6).

7.    Gentiles will be converted (Acts 10:44–45).

8.    Hardened enemies will become missionaries (Acts 22:6–8).

9.    Social barriers will be broken (Galatians 3:28).

10.  In eternity, those redeemed by Christ will included members of "every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages" (Revelation 7:9).

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV)
