Prayer Points 7/18/18

It’s time to Prepare!

An athlete prepares for a race, and there is a set date and time for the race. The athlete cannot change that date or time and how well the athlete prepares is how well they will run the race. Our assignments from the Lord are set, how well we run in the season when He opens the door for the assignment is based on how well we prepare!

Whether we prepare or not, we will still need to run. The preparation will make us better able to run and effective when the Lord opens the door.

It’s time to prepare!

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NIV)

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Personal Prayer Points

  1. We pray in accordance to Psalms 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and Know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.”
  2. Forgive us for wasting valuable time which could have been used to prepare us for what is to come, help us to redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16)
  3. Forgive us for procrastination, putting off what we know needs to be done. Help us to move forward with the things you have placed on our hearts to do, and not stop until it is completed.
  4. Haggai 1:4 reads: “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?” Forgive us for anyway we have prioritized our own lives above what You have wanted us to do for Your Kingdom.
  5. Father God, show us personally the ways we have become distracted. Help us Father to remove those distractions from our lives so we can do the very things You are asking of us.
  6. We pray for an awakening of greater sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit. If there is anything in our lives that is making us dull to the Holy Spirit, show these things to us, so we can turn from them. Forgive us for ignoring the Holy Spirit's promptings.
  7. We pray for discipline in this season of preparation. Help us to discipline our thoughts and our actions.
  8. Forgive us for complaining and moaning about the process.  We surrender ourselves to the Lordship of Jesus and say prepare us in whatever way You would like.
