CHRISTMAS PEACE…looking for the “ea” kind
I want to talking about “Personal…Meaningful Inner Peace!
Mark 4:35-41 (NKJV)
On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side." Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" Then He arose and rebuked the wind (ep-ee-tee-mah'-o), and said to the sea, "Peace, be still! “ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm (Breath). But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? " 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this (brother)be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"…is the God you serve able to arrest the storms that arise in your life?
Peace is the ability to be STILL in the midst of the Storm. Biblical peace is a sense of tranquility while still in the middle of the tempest…such personal awareness of his loving presence and divine power that your negative circumstances are eclipsed by His grace/goodness. In Peace “God gets bigger, and things get Smaller” There is still the reality and pain of grief …but Grief is dramatically different for those who trust in the Lord then those who are not able to yet…the phases or cycles of grief may be the same but, for those who trust in the Lord there is the Anchoring presence of Hope and Peace… “1 Thess 4:13” In the midst of calamity is a profound comfort, a peace that surpasses understanding…a sense of divine security that resides in the heart and mind.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus…Worship until you sense his Peace…now it starts to makes sense
Ancient Prophesy:
Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV)
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Christmas Story: Luke 2:8-14 (NLT)
That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
