Matthew 17:14-21

When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him and saying, 15"Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him." 17And Jesus answered and said, "You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me." 18And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once.

19Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not drive it out?" 20And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21[But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."]

PRAYER

Prayer/Fasting are Keys to the Empowered Life

Isaiah 61

Little Faith: Oleegos – Of uncertain affinity, “kind of believe, but don’t”- extent, degree, number, duration or value –weak and of the wrong origin – of little circumstance

Some Faith: Have this Kind - Pistis – “It doesn’t mean getting angry at someone”…it means to believe into or upon Jesus.  Illustration: Tight rope, Wheel barrow, Monkey, You…Trust In me with your life!

The issue is not the Magnitude of our Faith (“Mustard Seed”), the issue is the quality or the Makeup of your Faith!

Fast

1. Pray/Plan/ Prepare – “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail”…Great Theologian John Maxwell…Smiling –If you fail, just fail forward!

2. Minimize and Minus – Couple of  Days  – “Raw veg for 2 weeks, extend my Fasting time”

3. Curb/Carve – Fortified Water / Google: “Master Cleanse” /Specific Time- Noon Prayer the Next two Wednesdays

Pray

Philippians 4:4-8 (NASB)
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Philippians 4:4-7 (MSG)
Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you're on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute! Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

5 Minutes – 3 times a day – Journal your Gratitude
