Fast Day 21

Mountain of Influence: Business

Day 3 – Proclaim Genesis 37: 5-11 (HCSB)

Then Joseph had a dream.

For Joseph it all started with a dream. His dream – his vision – took him from a pit in the desert to Potiphar’s house, to prison, and eventually to the palace. It was there in the palace that Joseph fulfilled his God-given dream and saved Israel. Today we challenge you to dream big.

Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it you can do it.” Walt Disney would know; early on he was fired from a Missouri newspaper because he lacked creativity. Later, he would suffer business failure (1920), bankruptcy (1923) and an animator’s strike (1941). Nonetheless Disney kept believing and became the household name we know today.

But Disney was not alone. John Searcy began to live out his dream by selling automotive batteries from the trunk of his Studebaker in 1950. Today, Interstate Batteries has over 190 stores in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Dave Thomas turned his dream into Wendy’s Restaurant. S. Truett Cathy turned his dream into Chick-fil-A. There are NO LIMITS with our God.

Your Turn

Prayer:

Heavenly Father we pray for kingdom minded leaders to rise to the top of big businesses as CEOs, and that they will be among those who have the greatest influence. Let the godly rise to the top of each industry and be leaders of integrity and creators of economic blessing. Let them be givers of resources to the community and speak boldly for righteousness without fear.

We come against the operation of unlawful and ungodly businesses that perpetuate sin and hurt our society. May the strongholds keeping these centers for profit in operation be pulled down now and come to nothing in the mighty Name of Jesus.

Fast Thoughts:

As you fast and pray today press into the Holy Spirit. Ask Him for revelation of how you can impact the Mountain of Business. Ask Him for ideas, concepts, processes or inventions. There are no limits with our God.
