“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  Hebrews 12:1-2

The heart of The Crossing Church is to lead people into becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.  Recognizing that only God can complete this great work, the focus of the Spiritual Development Team is to teach, encourage, and equip you to follow God’s Word on how to become more like Him.  We believe that you can impress from a distance, but you can only truly impact people up close.  Jesus was a prime example of this principle - He impressed thousands of people, but He truly impacted 12, and it is because of those 12 that we are here today.  This is the power of community.  We believe that living in real community with a small group of people is a powerful force in your spiritual walk; as God’s presence is lived out in the lives of the believers around you, opening the Word of God together, and learning to give of yourself, the deepest spiritual transformation takes place. Not only is your life transformed, God is able to use you to change your culture.  These small groups are called LifeGroups.  Because not all your needs can be met in a LifeGroup setting, the Spiritual Development Team provides additional opportunities to mature, grow and find inner healing.  Some or all of these opportunities can be participated in together with your LifeGroup. 

The primary focus of our Pastoral Care ministry is to equip LifeGroups to provide ongoing relational care within the church.  The Pastoral Care staff is available to care for the needs of those both inside and outside of our church.

Care Ministries Classes provide support to find healing from our hurts, habits, and hang-ups through Jesus Christ.  The goal of Care Ministries is to provide critical care in areas of need, then encourage class members to move back into the LifeGroup setting.

Our Missions Team focus is to bring glory to God through transformed lives.  We are committed to living out the gospel across the street and around the world through local, national, and international missions.  One of the LifeGroup goals is to participate in a missions project together.

The Spiritual Development Team has chosen the “26.2” theme, which is the length of a marathon.  Being a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ isn’t just a walk around the block; it takes time, energy and discipline to become the man or woman of God that He longs for you to be.  The Spiritual Development Team’s desire is to help make that a reality in your life.  Whether you are just checking out church for the first time, or you’ve been running for awhile, we ask that you join us in this spiritual race.
