What opportunities are there to serve?

There are 3 primary ways to serve through The Crossing Church.  All volunteer positions require a completed volunteer application (print above) to be returned to the Information Center IN BETWEEN our church services on Saturday or Sunday (bring a copy of your DL). Only one application is needed for each volunteer.

1) Ministries

There are many ministries within The Crossing Church to serve God's people.  Indicate on your volunteer application which ministries you would like to serve in and you will be contacted.  Click below to see a description of each ministry.  If you need more guidance as to which ministry you should serve in, read the remainder of this webpage and then contact Mary Hight at mhight@crossingonline.org with further questions.

 2)  Missions

It’s our vision at The Crossing Church that the incredible news of the Gospel will spread from this place like a raging wildfire, igniting hearts and minds for God, and changing lives forever for Him. To accomplish this, we are active across the street and around the world in spreading His message and the amazing story of His love for us. Acts 1:8 tells us that Jesus sent His followers out into Jerusalem (local), Judea (national), Samaria (national), and the ends of the Earth (world).  Click above to see a detailed brochure of all the local and world missions serving opportunities.

3) Meet the Need

The Crossing Church has united with other area churches and ministries in an exciting project designed to take you straight to people and local agencies who need help, wherever they are found:  among our neighbors, through community ministries, and on overseas missions.

Make this a personal mission, or join with your family, friends, or LifeGroup to show our community we care.  There are dozens of ways to help:

    - provide services (home repairs, transportation, mentoring, etc)

    - provide goods (food, clothing, appliances, toys, supplies, etc)

    - serve at an outreach event of a community ministry

Click above to register with Meet the Need, so you can search and adopt needs.

How and when do I get connected to serving?

You can start your volunteer journey today . . . 3 steps to become a volunteer at The Crossing Church are:

1)  Choose a place to serve

There are hundreds of positions to serve through The Crossing Church and several ways to help you make that decision.

    a)    read about each ministry by clicking the links above

    b)    browse statements that may help you narrow your area of service - see bottom page

    c)    COMING SOON! - search available opportunities through our database

    d)    COMING SOON! - watch a short video of a ministry to get a feel of each environment

2)  Volunteer Application and Background Check

For the protection of our children and sensitive information, it is required that all volunteers complete and application and background check prior to serving.  Applications are available at the Information Center in our lobby or at the bottom or top of this webpage.  Please return your completed application and a copy of your driver’s license (we can make a copy if needed) to the Information Center IN BETWEEN services on Saturday and Sunday (not before or after) to a Crossing Church staff memer.  The timeframe for a background check is typically 1 week, but could be longer depending on the number of alias you have had and and counties you have lived in. Once your background has been approved, you will be notified via email and your info will be forwarded to the ministry(s) you chose to be in contact with you.

3) Training

In order to prepare you for the specific service God has called you to, each ministry does their own observation and  training.  Once your background check has been approved, you will be notified by the minstry(s) you chose to arrange for the preparation of your serving experience.
