e·merge [i-murj]:

e·merge [i-murj]:  to come forth into view or notice, as from concealment or obscurity;  to come up or arise;  to come into existence; develop;  to rise, as from an inferior or unfortunate state or condition.

Emerge is a ministry for all 9th through 12th graders.  Emerge is designed to be a place where teenagers can come and have their spiritual and social needs met in a relevant, high energy environment. I would say we are a group of youth and youth leaders who love people regardless of where they have been, what they have done and who they are.  We are non-judgmental!  We believe we need to be love to the world.  God's love.   Love is not just a feeling but an action.  We believe more in living for Christ than we do saying we live for Christ and wearing t-shirts that say we do.  We are a group of youth and youth leaders who are OK with standing up for our Savior, regardless of the cost...and not being a jerk while doing it.   We know life is tough.  Things like cutting, depression, divorce, insecurity, peer pressure, abuse, struggling with identity and confusion are not new to us and we are willing to help you get through it.  We are not afraid to get involved with people who have messy lives!  We don't know all the answers but know THE answer on how to make it through this journey called life.

The Scripture we have adopted as our own can be found in 1 John 3:16-20.  It reads, “This is how we’ve come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves. If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God’s love? It disappears. And you make it disappear. My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.”
