Just two miles from our church, you can make a huge impact in breaking the negative cycles of families surrounded by drugs, prostitution, abuse and violence. The children of Clair-Mel Elementary need positive role models in the classroom, at lunch and after school. Come share your hobbies, cooking, music, art, gardening, dance or sports. The school also needs administrative help anytime. Your time equates to love to these children!

The Crossing Church Clair-Mel Elementary School Ministry and Soccer Shots (www.soccershots.org), a leader in youth soccer development and a nationally recognized program, have joined together to offer a high-energy, fun, faith-based soccer outreach at Clair-Mel Elementary School. Each 45 minute weekly session is held on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. at the field adjacent to the school. The primary objective of each session is to creatively introduce the sport of soccer as well as encourage each child in their spiritual walk, their athletic development and their Christ-like character.

Instruments of Change

The Crossing has partnered with Instruments of Change www.instrumentsofchange.com to bring a music program to Clair Mel.  This program provide opportunities for students to learn to play musical instruments.  The Lord has provided some funding in this area as well as a newly formed company called Instruments of Change.  They take donations of old musical instruments, refurbish them, and place them into the hands of needy students. 

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers who have some expertise in playing band instruments are needed to work with beginning band at Clair Mel Elementary School on Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.  High School students can get service hour credit for this activity.  Donations of musical instruments are also greatly appreciated.  If you have gently used instruments that you would like to donate or are able to volunteer please contact Glen Schubert: email  info@instrumentsofchange.com
