Baby Dedication is an opportunity given to parents to privately and publicly declare their intentions to raise their child in a Christ-centered home. Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3) and parents are charged with introducing their children to Jesus Christ.
Baby Dedication is reserved for children who are 2 years old or younger. Baby Dedication is not infant baptism or salvation. The Crossing Church does not practice infant baptism. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact our Jungle Jam Coordinator, Lynn Wade at 813-549-4244.
Please note that cohabitation before marriage is a violation of Biblical principles. We will not be able to dedicate children whose parents are currently cohabitating. For more information or to speak with someone regarding this subject, please contact Pastor Dan Harley at 813-626-0783.
The Process
To ensure the Crossing Church congregation has the opportunity to keep their commitment to support you in providing opportunities for your children to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ we require parental involvement. This ensures that your family is actively involved in the church and that our partnership has the ability to develop as the child grows.
Requirements to participate in Baby Dedication:
- We ask that you do one of the following things: (1) attend the Meet the Crossing; (2) be an active volunteer in one of our ministry areas; (3) or be a member of a LifeGroup.
- Listen to the audio message pertaining to Baby Dedication. Pastor Greg and Tamara Dumas will give you a strong head start by sharing the lessons they have learned in raising their three children.
- Attend the New Mother's Brunch on Saturday, May 12th at 10:30am.
- Complete the online registration form by the deadline date of Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
